Sunset at Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick
Tewet Tarn Sunrise - I pulled an all nighter last night and shot up to Castlerigg for a sunset, and to see what I could get of comet Neowise. The sky has been so cloudy for the past few weeks, the Lakes was looking promising from the forecast on XCWeather. I got there and was Castlerigg busy??.. Hell, yes!.. packed out. I wasn't the only tog there, and wandered over and got talking to @chipster_63 who had also took the opportunity to drive up from The Wirral and chance his arm at grabbing the comet. We were stood around for quite some time until the crowds dispersed, and we could get a few shots in the bag. We were ultimately joined by four other Astro togs including @robinnoakphotography and @stars_dogs_mountains_n_mines
Neolithic Sunrise - This was taken about 7am at the Callanish standing stones. I'd got here a little early, but that gave me some time to wander and get my composition - not a lot on offer really as the sun only rises in one location. I got set up, anticipating where the sun would rise and enjoying the silence and solitude - when suddenly a minibus and a small car came screaming along the adjoining road, screeched to a halt and a group of eight photographers came running over and set up alongside me, and almost taking my spot too.

Three Shires Stone to Pike O’Blisco

I didn’t know it, but the reason behind Steve heading towards Black Crag was so he could see ‘The Needle’. This is noted in Wainwrights’ fourth Pictorial Guide book about the Southern Fells, and he had obviously researched this prior to choosing this route as it is a bit off the beaten track.
